Hi

My name is Daniel. I'm from Poland. I'm competition angler. I'm very happy, becouse match fishing exist in Danmark. Mayby not in this season, propably 2011 I will start in some competitions.

Hi Daniel

Welcome to medesiden.dk, we will all look forward to meeting you sometime in 2011 at a competition.

If you need any help or advice on where to go or when the matches are, then don't hesitate in contacting us, we will always help you out.

In most competitions you don't need to be a member of a club, however you always need to have the danish national license (can be bought online here: www.fisketegn.dk). Some lakes and rivers are free for all to fish, when you have this license, it is however quite common to buy a day ticked for specific venues. We'll help you out on this one, don't worry.

A few of us are also fishing in Poland next month, at the club world championships in Poznan, which we are very much looking forward to.

I live in Vejle. I have a fishing license, I bought at the post office. Can you recommend me some lake or river near Vejle (50km) where I can catch a roach, bream and other silver fish.

Hi Daniel

If you already got the national permit, then you have a lot of choices around Vejle.

Unfortunately we really don't have a lot of big rivers in Denmark, so you'll have to settle with small rivers, canals and lakes.

Currently we are fishing a lot in Gudenåen near Randers (apx. 100 km for you), the fishing is free, and it's really good at the moment. Many of the reports on this site is from Gudenåen.
If you want to fish pole or bolo in a fast flowing river, then this is by far the best we have to offer.

If you want to fish closer to Vejle, then it's free to fish the small river called "Rands Å". When you drive from Vejle towards Fredericia on road 28, you'll pass the river. Another option is the big lake about 20 km north west of Vejle, called Fårup Sø. It's been a while since I've been there, but we usually buy a license from a farmer on the south side of the lake. Look for a small sign with "fiskekort". It's this farm: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=55.726412,9.399877&num=1&t=h&sll=55.621163... After you get the permit you have to walk through the field, before you get to the lake. It's a very good idea to have a barrow, as the field is very steep. I would advice you to fish either feeder or slider at this venue, it's really not a pole venue. The stock is mainly big roach and a few bream.

If you want to go fish with some other match anglers, then you may want to get in touch with the anglers in Kolding, it is a fairly big club with quite a lot of match anglers.

I had a brief look on your links, and especially the link with Warta was good, with quite a lot of information we didn't already have. I couldn't find the international forum though, or at least there weren't any posts there.

Hi,
I live in Horsens which is only 25 km from Vejle!
There are many reasonable places to fish around in the area. I normally fish my local Bygholm sø - lake which has bream up to 3.5-4 kilo. Many other silverfish, including som carp and tench. Local fishing license for this lake is obtainable from the restaurant at the north bank of the lake. You can buy day and yearly licenses.
